If being on the cusp of what’s innovative and effective is important to you, then Patrick Walsh is your guy. Patrick started his career as a medical Massage Therapist working with a chiropractor and studying Trigger Point Therapy and Myofascial Release, as well as learning the techniques of Rolfing. Patrick always felt that these techniques worked best with athletes, and he was able to put them to use while working for The New York Giants football team for three seasons.
But Patrick knew there was more to healing and injury prevention. He went back to school to earn a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy from Hunter College. His final clinical affiliation was at The University Pain Center physical therapy department where he went on to become a staff physical therapist. Five years later, Patrick purchased the practice with his colleague Todd Wilkowski, which went on to be renamed Performance Physical Therapy.
Since then, the two have opened three more offices and expanded Performance’s scope of therapies.
Patrick is once again at the forefront of offering the best care. He has expanded his studies and understanding of Integrative Medicine by enrolling in Columbia University's Narrative Medicine Program. It is the first degree program of its kind and aims to improve the quality of patient care, as well as the health care system as we know it today, by assessing the whole person rather than just the condition.
